About Monmouth Sod
Since 1983, Monmouth Sod has supplied and installed premium Kentucky bluegrass and tall & fine fescue blends across Monmouth County, NJ. Our sod is cultivated by Brookrest Sod Farm – established 1914, third-generation farmers in Marlboro and Pemberton – and each piece is field-grown 10 to 14 months to full maturity before harvest.
Available in 250 and 500 sq ft pallets or individual pieces. Repair those annoying patches and puddles yourself on a weekend, or have it professionally installed – either way you get a thick, green, weed-resistant lawn the same day it’s laid.
Why Sod in Fall or Winter?
Fall is the best time of year to lay sod, and it isn’t close. Here’s why the cooler months give you a better lawn for less work.
Warm soil, cool air
The ground is still warm from summer while the air turns cool. New sod roots dig in fast, without the plant fighting summer heat.
Strong roots before winter
Cool-season grasses like bluegrass and fescue drive their energy into roots in fall, rooting deep before the lawn goes dormant.
